Rats! All He Needed was a Warm Bed

A rat in the insulation

With this polar vortex swirling around most of us, it stands to reason that furry creatures will also seek shelter from the storm.  In this crawlspace, I found a rat nestled into the insulation. For further warmth he rested himself upon the heating vent to fight off the winter chill. Just wanted to share this find with you today and remind all of you to stay safe, as well as warm, in the low temps and subzero windchills!

Hi David,

Man Oh Man. I can see the rat jumping out on you as you investigated further. LOL

I usually don't mess with the "Homes" of the pets, just report what i find. The buyers may not have an issue with a family of "Pet's in the crawl space" LOL

Have a good day in the Atlanta area. Nice post.

Best, Clint McKie

Well, I don't mess with them either - I just photographed him. The wildlife control experts with our local pest control company helped relocate him : )

I guess we all like a warm cozy place when it's cold, even if we do have a fur coat.

I want to say GROSS but then again, I sort of feel bad for it! The things you must uncover! My tree guy told me yesterday he wanted to wait to cut down one of the trees because a raccoon had made a home and he really didn't want to kill it. I hope he leaves on his own before he is evicted!
